2012

So, some resolutions for the new year…

  • Cook on a regular basis. Toward the end of last year, I started cooking at home more. I felt a lot better physically and also saved a lot of money.  I’m hoping I’ll be more conscious of what I put in my body and lead a healthier lifestyle.
  • Stick to my running regimen and be more active. I was doing really well with my running for a while, and then slowly lost interest. However, my new dog has to have an adequate amount of exercise or else he tears up the house. So, that’s good incentive for me to get back on track and take him for walks/runs. I also wanna try out the local hiking trails.
  • Read more. Specifically, all the books I’ve accumulated over the recent years and never got around to reading. I promise to read every book I have stacked in my closet right now.
  • Do more to work toward a career. I’m done coasting. This year I’ll work on gaining experience and internships and job leads in the IT field.
  • Do more stuff alone. This past year I did things I was never interested in or ever thought I’d do, like dance at a club. Because I’m so socially awkward, in a way, it was kinda like getting over a fear. Things that don’t seem like a big deal, like eating at a restaurant alone or going to a movie alone, secretly terrify me. But I do wonder how many new people I’d meet if I went out alone more often. Almost every time I’m eating alone on my lunch break, someone strikes up a conversation with me. So we’ll see how this one plays out.
  • Get off the damn internet. I’m starting to realize just how big of a role social media plays in people’s lives. People can’t do anything anymore without tweeting it or blogging it, it seems. It was hard, but I’ve deleted almost every social networking profile I have. I only kept instagram by choice, and Facebook as sort of an obligation — because that’s how I keep in touch with out of town family. And of course, Tumblr. However, this will be the last personal post for me. I’m done sharing my life online. I want to blog less, and when I do blog, keep it strictly to things related to my interests: film/tv/books/comics/and maybe new recipes I try out. I want to build new friendships outside of the internet, and keep in touch with people on a more personal level, rather than reading about someone’s day in a status update. And just basically do more things for the sake of doing them, not just to share pictures and stories online. So yeah, if you want to know what’s going on with me, drop me an email (kyndream@gmail.com) or give me a call!

There you have it!
